Whether you’re reshaping your nose, increasing your breast size, reducing fat, or something else, cosmetic procedures can be exciting! But the idea of going through with a surgery can sometimes be overwhelming. It’s important to me that my patients feel totally prepared for a procedure before it takes place. Not sure if you’re there? I’m happy to talk with you in greater detail at my office, but the following are a few clear signs that you are at least close to being ready.
You’ve done your research
Surgery, whether it’s an open-heart procedure, joint replacement, or a facelift, is a big deal and should not be taken lightly. It’s important that you do a significant amount of research on any surgery or procedure you are thinking about having done. This might mean seeking the advice of friends or family members who have been in similar situations, reading articles online, and talking to trusted medical experts about your body so that you know what to expect before, during, and after a surgery takes place. Once you are well informed, you can feel more confident about going through with the procedure.
You have reasonable expectations
We work hard to make sure that all our patients are satisfied with the results of their procedures. The first step for doing so is making sure that they have reasonable expectations for what they will look like after a surgery takes place. As you consider a procedure, be sure to look at examples of before-and-after photos and have a full consultation with an expert about what your end results might be. Feel free to bring in photos of your ideal appearance, but understand that plastic surgeries are not the same as Photoshop, and you will not walk out of our office looking like a Kardashian after just one procedure. During your consultation, we will have a frank discussion about what will keep you looking natural and the best version of yourself
You trust your doctor
When searching for a professional to do your procedure, it’s important that you consider their training as well as experience. There are many plastic surgeons in the New York area, so it is essential that you do your best to find the one that is the right fit for you. In our office, you can trust that you are in good hands and have the benefit of being under the care of professionals who have years of training and knowledge in the industry.
You’re excited about what’s to come
Before you have a plastic surgery, it’s important that you are excited about your potential results. If you are at all on the fence about having a procedure done, don’t feel like you have to rush into it. There is always time to do further research and think about your options. However, if you can’t wait for your finished look and have been fantasizing about the procedure for awhile, the time is probably right. We would be happy to help you get your dream look in a way that works best for you. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out.
